Let’s talk about the reality of studying for CeMAP while working full-time.



So we know there are flexible study options are there. And sure, you can work through it at your own pace.  But let’s be real — that doesn’t mean it’s easy.


I work with students every day who are spinning multiple plates: full-time jobs, night shifts, parenting, care responsibilities... and still trying to revise for a qualification that asks A LOT from you mentally.


So if you’re feeling like you’re constantly falling behind, or like self-paced study somehow makes you feel more guilty because you "should" be doing more — I hear you.


To help, here are 7 things I recommend to avoid burnout while using something like an e-learning platform (or any kind of self-paced CeMAP study):


💡 1. Make a weekly study plan, not a wishlist. Be realistic. Two focused sessions a week is better than setting five and doing none. 

💡 2. Use the Pomodoro method. 25 mins study → 5 min break → repeat. You’ll be amazed how much more you retain (and how much less you resent it).

💡 3. Stop re-reading. Start summarising. Notes you write in your own words stick 10x better than the ones you highlight in the textbook.

💡 4. Don’t underestimate audio. Listen to a topic on your commute, in the bath, while cooking. Passive revision adds up.

💡 5. Use the WhatsApp support. If you’re on the e-learning platform — don’t ghost it. Message me. Ask questions. That’s what I’m here for.

💡 6. Give yourself deadlines. Pick an exam date and work backwards. Nothing gives you momentum like a little pressure.

💡 7. Be kind to yourself. You’re doing a lot. Progress is still progress, even if it’s slower than you hoped.
